here's
my dad. nature enthusiast, geologist to the core, and even more
so a proponent of all in this world that's taiwanese. i couldn't
adore him more. the color of his skin (much in contrast to my sickly
whiteness) tells of desert expeditions for work and play, not to
mention hours of pure enjoyment at the tennis courts or the driving
range, where i'd sit, watch and learn. though my natural ability
seems to have limited me somewhat (sorry dad!), my dad put true
effort into trying to make an athlete out of me: in tennis, golf,
soccer, ping pong, baseball, tennis, golf...i love you!

mom!
hi mom. have i mentioned that this is my mom. she's a full-time real
estate guru and can close a deal with prowess and diplomacy all in
one swift stroke of her pen. and, she's not bad at day trading these
days either, which seems to be a growing trend amongst our asian mothers.
a scary thing to think about, but hey, more power to em (especially
if they rake profits)! my fragile heart (not to mention slim pocketbook)
can't handle that kinda thing, so i just listen, smile and nod at
the wild price flux stories. (see that xine, choice of NO serial comma
between "smile" and "and". HA! it's MYYYY website
anyway!) |
then
there's christine. my older sister, my hero (only shh! don't tell
her that -- i haven't yet). christine's a brainiac engineer who works
at shutterfly
(lucky!). she's also part-time web designer, part time life advisor
to her little sister. hefty job, that. christine's one of those people
who never have a hard time answering that question: "sooo...what
are your hobbies?" her spare time occupiers are gardening, hiking,
dog showing, sci-fi/fantasy book reading and, previously, motorcycle
riding. vroom, vroom... |
meet
don, my brother-in-law (it's so weird to say that). don's a long-time
hp engineering
loyalist, which is where he met christine (a match made in heaven).
he's also another one of those hobby enthusiasts, and his talents
to date include motorcycle riding (sound familiar?) on his harley
davidson, woodworking (some impressive projects to date, though i
still haven't managed to actually score any of them for myself), flying
small planes and mowing the lawn (or perhaps this latter one is merely
a chore-- at any rate he always seems to be doing it). oh, and how
could i forget beer guzzling. perhaps that's why he gets along so
well with grandma. |
my
gramma is one of the most amazing women i know, not to mention CUTE!
my words could hardly begin to do her justice, but i'm obliged to
share her with the rest of the world to be fair. a great cook, a captivating
storyteller, oldest sister and caregiver to five brothers (and the
only one in the states) and a connoisseur of fine beer (bud light
and miller genuine draft. warm and none other) my grandma's unwavering
strength of spirit is unquestionably and unendingly an inspiration
to me. |
so
this would be me. well, i'm the one on the right, just to make that
clear. to my left is cooper, my dreamboat. cooper's my sister's
first golden retriever puppy and had his own website before me.
not bad, eh?
uh...what
else. okay. more about me some other time.

"think
liquid. " that's what this rocker does - in fact, she's paid
to do it as technology strategist at venture consultancy liquidthinking
(sheesh what a plug). oh but there's so more. and this picture really
says it all. an honorary member of the family, jenn eats crawfish,
writes poetry, is a former skater, hoop shooter, snowboarder, loft
decorator, first time homebuyer, need i say more? oh, and not to mention,
one of my best friends. together we aspire to fame and quick riches,
vow daily to quit our corporate jobs and work retail (or maybe that's
just me), and diligently surf the web to report new and useless findings
to each other. |
