Head of Retail, Vertical Markets Group

This is a national position that could be based in Chicago, IL, Mountain View, CA or New York, NY.

The Retail Head's main responsibility is to develop and execute on a strategy for driving ad sales with large retail advertisers on a national/international level. This person will work in conjunction with the Google regional sales teams to maximize revenue opportunities with top retailers and will not carry an account list. The Retail Head already understands the needs and metrics of retail advertisers and is well-connected in the retail ad market. This person is expected, through their retail advertising experience, expert knowledge of the market/advertisers, and 100% focus, provide our clients with a true consultative sell.

The Retail Head is a proven sales professional, with extensive direct sales experience, a deep understanding of online advertising and unparalleled team player. This person will be responsible for attaining specific qualitative and quantitative objectives in the Retail vertical i.e. revenue targets for the category, sell-through percentages, initiating business with strategic accounts, etc.

Reporting to a Vertical Markets Director, this person will assist with revenue development in the automotive sales category. Responsibilities include market assessment and category sales strategy; analyzing, packaging and managing search advertising inventory; development of sales tools; and working closely with regional sales teams to drive and maximize revenues in specific vertical categories.
